The project plan requires estimates of activity duration that are “good enough.” While the team could certainly spend time arguing about whether the duration of an activity is 3 days or 4 days and often do, that is just a waste of time. The planning estimate is an early estimate and will change several times before the activity is even executed. What is needed for the plan is a rough idea of duration.
